How To Use The Depth Charts In both sections, boldfacing indicates a starting player at a position--someone who is getting at least 50% of the team's playing time at a single position for Position Players, or a projected rotation member or closer for Pitchers. The batting and pitching statistics are all based on playing time projections. In the Position Players section, column PT% contains the projected percentage of playing time by position for each player. For example, a 95 in the SS position means that player is projected to get 95% of the team's playing time at shortstop.
